About Afua Hirsch
Afua Hirsch, born on June 12, 1981 in Stavanger, Norway, is a journalist who made her mark as the Social Affairs and Education Editor for Sky News in 2014. Prior to this role, she began her career writing for The Guardian in 2011. In 2018, Hirsch published her first book titled “Brit(ish): On Race, Identity and Belonging.”
Before entering the field of journalism, Hirsch pursued studies in philosophy, politics and economics at St Peter’s College, Oxford. She later went on to study law at BPP University Law School.
In addition to her journalistic work and academic pursuits, Hirsch is also one-half of the fashion duo Afua x Sika. Outside of her professional life, she met her partner Sam while studying law and they welcomed their daughter into the world in 2011.
