Catherine Tate, born on December 5, 1969 in London, England, is a TV actress best known for her work on The Catherine Tate Show and as Donna Noble, the companion to The Doctor in the fourth series of Doctor Who. Before gaining fame with her self-titled sketch show, Tate created memorable characters such as Bernie the Irish nurse and spoiled Aga Saga. She was cast as Nellie Bertram on The Office in 2011 and later became a series regular. Tate drew inspiration from her mother for some of her characters, including Margaret who is easily spooked by sounds. In 2003 she had a daughter with her then-boyfriend Twig Clark.
