About Kari Wuhrer
Kari Wuhrer, born on April 28, 1967 in Brookfield, Connecticut, is a TV actress best known for her roles in popular 1990s television shows such as Swamp Thing, Class of ’96, and Sliders. Additionally, she made appearances on Lincoln Heights, Stargate Atlantis, and Beverly Hills, 90210. Beyond acting, Wuhrer is also a singer-songwriter who plays the guitar and flute. In 1999 she released her debut album titled Shiny.
Prior to her rise to fame in the entertainment industry , Wuhrer took acting classes at several prestigious institutions including Columbia University and New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Her first television appearance was on an episode of MTV’s game show Remote Control in 1987.
Wuhrer received critical acclaim for her role in the film Do It for Uncle Manny (2001), ultimately earning a Best Actress Award at the New York International Independent Film Festival for her performance. She also appeared in Sharknado 2: The Second One (2014).
Originally from Brookfield, Connecticut., Wuhrer has lived both in New York City and Los Angeles throughout her life. Her first marriage was to Daniel Salin from 1995 until their divorce in 1999; she then married James Scura in 2003.
