Whitney Blake (February 20, 1926 – September 28, 2002) was an American TV actress and co-creator of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning, long-running CBS sitcom One Day at a Time.
Born in Los Angeles, California, Blake’s most prominent acting role was on the series Hazel as Dorothy Baxter. Prior to her fame, she had several guest-starring roles on television shows like Johnny Midnight, Sheriff of Cochise, and State Trooper.
In addition to her acting career, she earned an Emmy nomination for her guest-starring role in the series The D.A.’s Man in 1959. She married Tom Baxter in 1940 with whom she had three children. After their divorce, she was later married to Jack X Fields for ten years and then to Allan Manings from 1968 until her passing in 2002.
