Walewska Oliveira, born on October 1, 1979 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, was a professional volleyball player known for her role as a middle blocker. Throughout her career, she played for various clubs including Rexona, Sirio Perugia, and Praia Clube. Notably, she achieved a bronze medal at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 and a gold medal at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
Prior to her fame as an Olympic athlete, Oliveira began playing for the Brazilian National Team in 1998 and secured recognition by winning a gold medal at the 1999 Pan American Games. Standing tall at 6’3″, she was acclaimed for her remarkable stature.
Oliveira hailed from Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Tragically passing away on September 21st of 2023; amidst speculation over the nature of her death being investigated as a suicide.
