About Vonzell Solomon
Vonzell Solomon, born on March 18, 1984 in Baxley, Georgia, is an R&B and pop vocalist known for her participation in the fourth season of American Idol. Her debut EP “True Story” was released on iTunes in early 2012. Before gaining fame on American Idol, she released a demo recording titled “My Struggle” and performed with local bands in Florida while also working for the United States Postal Service to fund her musical pursuits.
Solomon’s time on American Idol saw her reach the top 3 contestants before ultimately finishing behind Bo Bice and Carrie Underwood. She was raised in Fort Myers, Florida where she grew up with two brothers and one sister; she spent her high school years at the Cypress Lake Center for the Arts.
