Vivien Greene, born on August 1, 1904 in Zimbabwe, was a novelist renowned for her expertise in collecting and writing about dolls’ houses. She gained recognition as the wife of celebrated author Graham Greene and published notable works including “English Dolls’ Houses of the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries” (1955) and “Family Dolls’ Houses” (1973).
Before achieving literary acclaim, Vivien published a collection of poetry and prose titled “The Little Wings” during her teenage years. She grew up in Africa before eventually settling in England.
She passed away at the age of ninety-nine in England, leaving behind a legacy that extended beyond her literary achievements.
Vivien’s relationship with Graham Greene began when he responded to a critical letter she had written about one of his literary works. The couple went on to have two children, Caroline and Francis Greene, born in 1933 and 1936 respectively.
