About Virginie Fortin
Virginie Fortin is a Canadian comedian and actress known for her work on Saturday Day Night Live (SNL) Quebec, the shows Club Soly (2021) and Serie Noire (2014), as well as the film 23 Decembre (2022). Recognized for her stand-up comedy performances, she first gained notoriety after winning the television comedy competition “En route vers mon premier gala Juste pour rire” in 2013. Fortin was born on September 3, 1986, in Longueuil, Quebec, Canada.
Before pursuing a career in entertainment, Fortin studied French literature at McGill University with minors in Hispanic studies and Russian and Slavic studies. Her interest initially leaned towards improv rather than stand-up comedy. However, she ventured into stand-up when she was 24 years old during a visit to Chicago.
A lesser-known fact about Fortin is that beyond her successful comedic endeavors, she also enjoys singing as part of the music group Which is Which alongside her sister Corinne.
