About Vikki Carr
Vikki Carr is a Grammy Award-winning pop singer born on July 19, 1940 in El Paso, Texas. She gained prominence with her hit song “It Must Be Him,” and found further success when she began singing in Spanish, recording singles like “Que No Se Rompa la Noche.” In 1981, Carr was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Before achieving fame as a pop singer, Carr’s first hit was “He’s a Rebel” in 1962. The song was later covered by The Crystals under the guidance of producer Phil Spector.
Carr also made history by performing for five sitting U.S. presidents: Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.
