About Vibeke Skofterud
Vibeke Skofterud was born on April 20, 1989, in Askim, Norway. She is a former cross-country skier who gained recognition for winning the gold medal in the 4×5 km relay at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. Skofterud also achieved success at multiple world championships, including victories in Oslo (2011) and Oberstdorf (2005).
Her career began with a bronze medal at the Junior World Championships in Strbske Pleso in 2000. She continued to excel, earning a silver medal at the World Championships in Val di Fiemme (2003) and then securing gold at Oberstdorf.
Skofterud made history as the first Norwegian to win the Vasaloppet ladies’ class in 2012, where she set a new record time. She grew up and lived her life in Askim.
