About Venus DeMilo Thomas
Venus DeMilo Thomas is a director, producer, writer, and actress known for her work on television series such as Family Matters, Sister, Sister, and The Bold and the Beautiful. Her directorial debut short film Did I Wake You? was well-received after premiering at the Sundance Film Festival in 2001. She has also worked in various roles within filmmaking and television, including residuals analysis, production finance, and media distribution.
Thomas has been active in both on-screen and behind-the scenes roles since 1983. She graduated from Loyola Marymount University with bachelor’s degrees in film production and communication/media studies along with a minor in Africana studies.
In 1993, she was nominated for a “Best Young Actress Co-starring in a Cable Series” Award from the Young Artist Awards for her performance as Telly Radford on Salute Your Shorts. Notably, Thomas spent 14 years working as an assistant to her mother at The Thomas Talent Agency.
