Valeria Shashenok is a Ukrainian photographer and TikTok personality, born on July 17, 2001. She gained recognition for sharing her experiences of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022, documenting the bomb damage through videos and photos.
Before gaining fame as a social media personality, she launched her TikTok account in 2020. When the invasion occurred in 2022, she and her family fled to a bomb shelter with their dog amidst the chaos.
Shashenok has amassed over 1.3 million followers on her valerisssh TikTok account. In addition to documenting the war’s impact on Ukraine, she also travelled to France in 2021 and was interviewed by the BBC in March of that same year.
