Val Garland (born February 3, 1959 in Bristol, England) is a storied makeup artist who has worked predominantly in the fashion industry. Her work has been featured on the cover of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Allure. She has also served as L’Oreal Paris Global Makeup Director and as a contributing beauty editor for British Vogue.
Before pursuing her successful career in makeup artistry, Val Garland originally worked as a hairstylist. After burning out on hairstyling while living in Australia, she decided to sell her salon and move to London where she became a renowned makeup artist.
Garland is known for her impressive talents within the industry and notable collaborations such as helping Lady Gaga create the look for the cover of Born This Way album. She was previously married to Terry; however, they divorced when Garland moved to London.
