V. J. Chitra, born on May 2, 1992 in Chennai, India, was a well-known TV actress who gained recognition for her portrayal of Mullai on the Tamil soap opera Pandian Stores from 2018 to 2020. She also served as a frequent anchor and host for Vasool vettai and Ossthi Comedy Kusthi.
Chitra began her career in television as an anchor for the Tamil show Sattam Solvathu Enna? in 2013 before making her acting debut.
She played Vishali on the Tamil language thriller soap opera Mannan Magal in 2014 and took on the titular character role in the soap opera Velunachi in 2018.
In December 2020, Chitra was found dead in a hotel room under suspicious circumstances which were initially believed to be suicide. Her husband Hemanth was subsequently charged with abetting her death.
