About Utrice Leid
Utrice Leid (born August 14, 1953) is a Trinidadian civil rights activist and journalist. She is best known for her role as the Managing Editor of The City Sun.
Prior to her career in journalism, Leid graduated from Adelphi University in New York. In 1979, she received top honors from the Public Relations Society of America for her work addressing tensions between Jews and Blacks in Crown Heights, New York.
Born in Princes Town, Trinidad and Tobago, Leid was the youngest of seven siblings. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her commitment to civil rights activism.
