Dominique Moceanu is an American gymnast born on September 30, 1981, in Los Angeles, California.
She gained recognition as the youngest U.S. gymnast to win an Olympic gold medal at the age of thirteen and a half.
Prior to her Olympic success, she achieved significant victories at her first Pan Am Games at ten years old, winning five medals.
Moceanu was part of the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics team known as the Magnificent seven and has a sister who is also a gymnast named Jen Bricker.
In 2006, she married Michael Canales and welcomed her daughter Carmen Noel Canales on Christmas Day in 2007. Two years later, she had a son named Vincent.
