About Tamara Mena
Tamara Mena is a motivational speaker and model, born on April 21, 1986, in the United States. At the age of 19, she was involved in a car accident that left her paralyzed from the mid-chest down. Despite this life-altering event, Mena has become an inspirational figure known for spreading messages of positivity and self-acceptance.
Before gaining recognition as a motivational speaker, Mena spent her childhood in Leon, Mexico before immigrating to the U.S. at age 13. Her story has been featured on various television shows including Sabado Gigante, American Latino and Inside Edition.
In addition to her work as a speaker and advocate for individuals with disabilities, Tamara Mena also participated in the beauty pageant and reality show Nuestra Belleza Latina—making history by becoming the first woman in a wheelchair to do so.
Mena’s personal life includes an engagement to Christopher Matysuk.
