About Syreeta
Syreeta, born on August 3, 1946 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was an American blues singer. She was widely recognized as the wife of acclaimed blues musician Stevie Wonder and made her mark as a Grammy Award-nominated R&B singer in her own right.
Prior to gaining recognition in her solo career, Syreeta sang backup vocals for The Supremes at Motown label where she famously crossed paths with Stevie Wonder.
She collaborated with Stevie Wonder on hits such as “Where I’m Coming From” and “If You Really Love Me,” with the latter reaching #8 on the charts.The talented artist’s family life was touched by tragedy when her father passed away during the Korean War. With her mother and grandmother raising Syreeta and her siblings thereafter.
