About Suzanne Collins
Suzanne Collins was born on August 10, 1962, in Hartford, Connecticut. She is an American author best known for writing the young adult trilogy The Hunger Games. These popular novels depict a brutal dystopian future and were later adapted into Hollywood blockbuster films.
Collins graduated from Indiana University with a degree in theater and went on to attend New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in the MFA-Dramatic Writing program. She began her career by writing scripts for children’s television programs such as Clarissa Explains It All and Little Bear.
In addition to her success as an author, Collins holds the title of top-selling Kindle author in history.
She grew up moving frequently due to her father’s service in the U.S. Air Force and later settled down in Connecticut with her husband, Charles Pryor, and their two children.
