Stephanie Rothman (born November 9, 1936) is a screenwriter best known for her work on films such as Terminal Island, Starhops (1978), and The Working Girls (1974). Rothman was born in New Jersey and attended the progressive institution UC Berkeley before pursuing a career in film. She gained recognition as the first female recipient of the Director’s Guild of America fellowship. Rothman had a partner but did not have any children.
