About Stefka Kostadinova
Stefka Kostadinova is a Bulgarian athlete born on May 25, 1965. She is best known for her achievements in the high jump, where she set the world record in 1987 and held it for more than 20 years.
Throughout her Olympic career, Kostadinova set seven world records both indoors and outdoors, with a remarkable seven jumps over two meters. In 2005, she was chosen to lead the Bulgarian Olympic Committee.
In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Kostadinova became a mother in 1995 just months before winning the gold medal at the World Championships in Gothenburg.
