About Soraya Darabi
Soraya Darabi is an Iranian-born entrepreneur, best known as the co-founder of Zady.com, an online retailer website. She was born on September 10, 1983 in Ahvaz, Iran. Soraya also co-founded Foodspotter, a geo-local culinary guide that was acquired by OpenTable in 2013.
Before her entrepreneurial ventures, she earned her B.A. in English and art history from Georgetown University in 2005. Her career began as the manager of buzz marketing for The New York Times in 2007.
In June 2014, Soraya was recognized as a Young Global Leader for the World Economic Forum and has been a keynote speaker at several events there. Despite being born to an Iranian emigre father, she credits her mother with being her personal mentor.
