Soledad Alvear is a Chilean attorney and politician who was born in Santiago, Chile on September 17, 1950. She has had a successful career as a politician, serving as Foreign Minister under Ricardo Lagos. During her time in office, she signed a Free Trade Agreement with the United States, the European Community, and South Korea.
