About Sofia Jakobsson
Sofia Jakobsson is a professional soccer player born on April 23, 1990, in Ornskoldsvik, Sweden. Primarily known for her years with Montpellier HSC during the mid-2010s, she has also played in Sweden, Russia, England, France, Spain and the United States throughout her career.
Jakobsson signed her first professional contract with Hagglunds IoFK in 2006 at the age of sixteen. She has also represented the Swedish women’s national team and has played in over 100 international matches during her career. Notably, she participated in three World Cups and three different Olympic competitions.
In two different World Cups (2011 and 2019), playing for Sweden led to her team finishing third. Moreover, she achieved her 100th cap while playing for Sweden against Austria in 2019.
During her upbringing, Jakobsson lived with her family in Ornskoldsvik area of Sweden.
