About Siobhan Bernadette Haughey
Siobhan Bernadette Haughey (born October 31, 1997) is a Hong Kong-Chinese Olympic swimmer known for her accomplishments in the women’s 200-meter freestyle and women’s 100-meter freestyle at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. She secured a silver medal in both events. In addition to her Olympic success, she clinched a gold medal in the 100-meter freestyle event at the FINA World Championships held in Abu Dhabi in 2021.
Prior to gaining international acclaim, Haughey participated at the World Junior Championships held in Dubai back in 2013. Notably, she holds the distinction of being the first swimmer ever to earn an Olympic medal while representing Hong Kong following her historic win in 2020.
Born and brought up alongside her family which hails from Ireland, Siobhan has made significant strides as an athlete by showcasing exceptional talent and skill on various global platforms.
