About Silvia Mezzanotte
Silvia Mezzanotte is an Italian pop singer born on November 11, 1966, in Bologna, Italy. She is most well-known for her time as the lead singer of the band Matia Bazar from 1999 to 2004 and again from 2010 to 2016. During her tenure with the group, she participated in the Sanremo Music Festival multiple times and won the competition in 2002 with the song “Messaggio d’amore.” Mezzanotte has also pursued a successful solo career, releasing albums such as “Il Viaggio,” “Lunatica,” “5.0,” and “Aspetta un Attimo.” In addition to her music career, she opened The Vocal Academy in Mazara del Vallo in 2015 where she teaches singing.
Prior to gaining fame as part of Matia Bazar, Silvia Mezzanotte made her professional debut at the Sanremo Music Festival in 1990 as a solo performer with her song “Sarai Grande,” which earned her fourth place in the Newcomer category. Following this early success, she continued her solo career before eventually joining Matia Bazar.
In addition to her music accomplishments, Mezzanotte appeared on the reality competition series Tale e Quale Show (the Italian version of Your Face Sounds Familiar) in 2016 where she emerged as that season’s winner after delivering impressive impersonations of singers like Mina, Dalida, and Adele.
