Shobhaa De, born on January 7, 1948 in Mumbai, India, is an Indian journalist and novelist known for her high-class socialite-based content. She has gained recognition for her regular columns in The Times of India, Asian Age, and The Week.
Prior to her successful career in journalism and writing novels, she initially worked as a model before making the switch to journalism in 1970. Her debut novel “Socialite Evenings” was published in 1989 and drew controversy due to its racy content.
She is married to Dilip De and together they have four children. They tied the knot in 1984.
