About Shayla Stonechild
Shayla Stonechild (born February 19, 1994) is a Canadian Instagram star and yoga instructor. She is also the founder and host of the Matriarch Movement, a non-profit platform and podcast dedicated to amplifying Indigenous voices.
Stonechild shares educational content about Indigenous culture, as well as yoga and motivational content on her shayla0h Instagram page, where she has over 100,000 followers. Prior to gaining fame through social media, she pursued acting, dancing, and modeling from a young age and graduated from the Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts.
In addition to her online presence, Shayla has appeared in various TV series like Siren and movies such as Indian Road Trip and Incontrol. Her brother Joel Oulette starred in the drama series Trickster.
Her mother Laurie is Red River Metis while her father is Nehiyaw (Plains Cree). In January 2022 she honored them by sharing family photos on Instagram describing her mom as a “dancing social worker.”
