Shanquella Brenada Robinson (born January 9, 1997) was an American businesswoman and social media personality. She was also the founder of a women’s fashion line. Tragically, she was murdered while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in October of 2022.
The case gained public interest when a video surfaced showing her being physically attacked in a villa. This led to an ongoing, high-profile transnational criminal investigation in both the US and Mexico.
Robinson graduated from the historically black Winston-Salem State University and owned women’s boutiques as well as children’s hair braiding businesses under her “Exquisite Kids” and “Exquisite Boutique” brands. She had garnered a following of 100,000 on Instagram with her account its.quella_.
Citizen journalists and amateur news bloggers played a significant role in bringing attention to the case; for instance, Prettybrklyn uploaded the video of the attack on Twitter, gaining over 2.5 million views.
In November it was reported that a court order had been issued against an American who was deemed the “direct aggressor” in her death.
Robinson’s mother, Salamondra Robinson received a call from her traveling companions on the day of Shanquella’s death saying that she wasn’t feeling well and would be seeing a doctor.<
