About Sarina Koga
Sarina Koga is a Japanese volleyball player, born on May 21, 1996 in Saga, Japan. She is notably recognized as Japan’s U23 senior national team captain and has competed with Japan’s national team in the women’s tournament at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Koga earned a bronze medal at the 2013 U23 World Championship and was dubbed one of the best outside hitters. She frequently shares team photos and pictures with family members on her sarina.koga Instagram account, which has amassed 320,000 followers.
Before fame, while attending Kumamoto Shin-ai High School in 2011, she helped the girls’ team win the All-Japan Junior High School championship. One year later, she earned the gold medal as well as MVP award at the 2012 Asian Youth Girls Championship where she was also the best scorer in the tournament. In 2015, she officially joined the NEC Red Rockets.
She won Japan V.Premier League’s Best Newcomer Award (Rookie of The Year) during their 2015-16 season and was named their Best6 and Most Valuable Player for following years.
In December of 2022, she married Yuji Nishida , who plays for also Japanese Men’s National Volleyball Team as an opposite hitter.
