About Sarah McTaggart
Sarah McTaggart (born February 25, 1989) is an American rock singer from Scottsdale, Arizona. She is best known as the lead vocalist and songstress of the dark pop quartet Transviolet.
Transviolet gained attention with their singles “New Bohemia” and “Girls Your Age” from their debut EP. The band released a 6-track album titled Kaleidoscopes in 2017.
Prior to her music career, McTaggart sang at church and school events starting at age 8 before performing her first open mic at age 17. Notably, she was living in the Grand Cayman Islands during the early stages of Transviolet’s formation.
McTaggart comes from a musical family; her father Steve McTaggart and uncle Mike performed as a duo in the ’70s and ’80s. Additionally, cousins Will Verhoeven and Brett McTaggart played key roles in shaping Sarah musically by teaching her to play guitar and helping her record her first songs.
Throughout childhood, Sarah moved frequently – living in 14 different places before turning 18 years old.
