Sarah Barthel, born on February 17, 1983 in New York, is a pop singer who gained recognition as a member of the indie rock duo Phantogram. The group was previously known as Charlie Everywhere and achieved success with their single “Fall in Love,” which reached number three on the US alternative charts in 2014.
Barthel and her bandmate Josh Carter have been friends since junior high and began collaborating on songwriting ideas in 2007. Before forming the band, Barthel had pursued a visual arts degree but ultimately found it unsatisfying.
In addition to her work with Phantogram, Barthel has performed at major music festivals throughout the United States and supported acts such as The xx, Muse, and The Glitch Mob. She also garnered attention for her relationship with professional snowboarder Shaun White.
