About Sara Doorsoun
Sara Doorsoun, born on November 17, 1991 in Cologne, Germany, is a veteran club defender and professional soccer player. She has been playing professionally since 2007 and is best known for her years with SGS Essen where she played in over 100 club matches. Additionally, she has represented the German women’s national team during her career.
Before rising to prominence as a professional player, Doorsoun played for the SV Wesseling youth team and also had stints with SpVgg Kottingen and Fortuna Koln as a child.
During the 2022 UEFA Women’s Euro Cup semi-finals, she played an instrumental role defensively in Germany’s 2-1 victory against France. Despite this achievement, Doorsoun and her teammates ultimately suffered defeat in the championship match against England.
