Sara Ahmed (born August 30, 1969) is a feminist author, scholar, and activist hailing from Salford, England. She is known for her work in queer theory, critical race theory, and post-colonialism. Some of her notable works include Willful Subjects and On Being Included.
Ahmed pursued her first degree at Adelaide University in South Australia before embarking on her career as a prominent non-fiction author and academic figure.
In 2016, she made headlines when she resigned from her position as a Professor of Race and Cultural Studies at Goldsmiths, University of London to protest the institution’s handling of sexual harassment cases.
She maintains a relationship with American anthropologist Sarah Franklin.
