Sammi Cheng, born on August 19, 1972 in Hong Kong, China, is a renowned pop singer and actress often referred to as “The Cantopop Queen”. Since her debut in the 90’s, she has achieved significant success in the Hong Kong entertainment industry, with over 25 million album sales to her name. In addition to her musical endeavors, Cheng has garnered acclaim for her acting skills and received three Best Actress nominations at the 2002 Hong Kong Film Awards.
Prior to reaching stardom, Cheng gained recognition after participating in the televised singing competition The New Talent Singing Awards at the age of 16 in 1988. Throughout her career, she won numerous accolades including an impressive total of 12 Top Female Vocalist awards from 1993 to 2010.
Cheng hails from a family of four siblings; she has three sisters (including twins) and a brother. She is married to Andy Chi-On Hui.
