Ruth Riley is a former professional basketball player who was born on August 28, 1979, in Kansas. She gained recognition as a center and achieved notable success throughout her career.
One of her major accomplishments was winning the NCAA title with Notre Dame in 2001. Additionally, she secured an NBA Championship with the Detroit Shock in both 2003 and 2006. In recognition of her influence within the sport, she also became Vice President of the WNBA Players’ Union in 2005.
Prior to achieving professional stardom, Ruth honed her skills by participating in basketball, track, and volleyball at North Miami Middle/High School located in Indiana. Notably, she also ventured into writing and published a children’s book called The Spirit of Basketball in 2005.
