About Ronee Blakley
Ronee Blakley is an American actress born on August 24, 1945 in Nampa, Idaho. She is best known for her award-winning performance as Barbara Jean in the 1975 film Nashville, for which she received a National Board of Review Award for Best Supporting Actress. In addition, she played a lead role in the 1984 horror A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Prior to her acting career, Blakley studied at Mills College, Stanford University and Juilliard before beginning vocal improvisations with Moog synthesizers at Carnegie Hall in New York. She also toured with Bob Dylan as a backup singer after the release of his album Desire.
Blakley was married to director Wim Wenders from 1979 to 1981 and has a daughter who is an author named Sarah Blakley-Cartwright.
