Rineke Dijkstra is a Dutch photographer known for her minimalist portrait series. She was born on June 2, 1959, in the Netherlands and received her formal education at Rietveld Academie. Prior to gaining recognition as an artist, she worked in commercial photography.
Dijkstra has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the Royal College of Art, London in 2011. She was born and raised in the Netherlands.
