About Marion Jones
Marion Jones is an American track star born on October 12, 1975 in Los Angeles, California. She rose to fame as a successful runner, winning three gold medals and two bronze medals at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. However, her achievements were tarnished when it was revealed that she had used steroids and subsequently had to forfeit all of her medals.
Jones turned to sports after the passing of her stay-at-home father when she was 12 years old. She achieved notable success in her career, including winning gold medals in the 100 meters and the 4×100 meter relay at the 1997 World Championships in Athens.
She was formerly married to CJ Hunter, who also served as her track coach at UNC, from 1998 to 2002. In addition, she has a son named Tim Montgomery Jr., whom she had with Tim Montgomery in 2003. Later on in 2008, Jones married Obadele Thompson.
