About Raquel Cassidy
Raquel Cassidy is a British TV actress known for her role as Phyllis Baxter on the Emmy-winning series Downton Abbey. She was born in Hampshire, England on January 22, 1968. Before pursuing acting, she grew up in Fleet and attended Farnborough Hill Convent. She originally planned to pursue a PhD in Biological Anthropology before switching paths to acting.
Aside from Downton Abbey, Cassidy has appeared in series such as Moving Wallpaper, Party Animals and Uncle. In 2010, she won a Screen Actors Guild Award for her work as part of the Downton Abbey ensemble. She comes from a multicultural background with an English father and Spanish mother and has two brothers.
