R.K.M. (born February 6, 1981) is a Puerto Rican world music singer best known as a former member of the acclaimed reggaeton duo R.K.M. & Ken-Y. He was born in Puerto Rico and began performing as Rakim in high school before changing his stage name to avoid confusion with the American rapper of the same name.
Following the duo’s breakup in 2013, he started releasing solo singles such as “El Malo” and “Mujer Peligrosa.” His 2008 album with Ken-Y, The Royalty: La Realeza, was nominated for a Latin Grammy for Best Latin Urban Album.
His real name is Jose Nieves and he married Lizbert Cruz in 2009.
