Queen Noor, born on August 23, 1951 in Washington, DC, United States, is a former Queen of Jordan. Before her marriage to King Hussein of Jordan in 1978 and subsequent acquisition of Jordanian citizenship by renouncing her American citizenship, she served as the President of the United World Colleges.
Prior to her time as queen and engagement with social and political causes, she attended Princeton University where she studied urban planning and architecture.
Notably, Queen Noor met King Hussein while working for Royal Jordanian Airlines in 1977. She frequently attended high-profile social events in her role as Director of Facilities Planning and Design at the airline.
Queen Noor is the widow of King Hussein and is also known for being the daughter of a government official and aviator.
