About Pilita Corrales
Pilita Corrales, born on August 22, 1939 in the Philippines, is a Filipina pop star known as “Asia’s Queen of Songs”. She gained fame for her hit versions of songs like “Kapantay Ay Langit” and made history as the first female artist to top the Australian pop charts. Before rising to stardom, she studied at Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion in Cebu City and began recording music in 1958. Throughout her career, she received numerous accolades including the Philippine Citizen’s Award for TV as Best TV Female Performer in 1965. Pilita has been married to businessmen Gonzalo Blanco and Carlos Lopez; she has children named Jackielou and Ramon, along with an adopted son named VJ.
