About Pierra Makena
Pierra Makena (born April 11, 1982) is a Kenyan DJ, radio host, and actress. In 2017, she established her own music production house. Makena has hosted programs at Radio Waumini and Hot 96 and appeared in films and shows such as Tahidi High, Oh-Bama, and When Love Comes.
Before gaining fame as a DJ and actress, Makena won multiple drama awards in high school. She was then recruited by the national broadcaster KBC during her senior year and landed the lead role in the KBC drama series Kisulisuli.
Makena holds a degree in media studies from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication. She comes from a family of six siblings and is also the mother to her daughter Ricca Pokot, born in 2016.
