About Petra Mede
Petra Mede, born on March 7, 1970 in Stockholm, Sweden, is a prominent comedian and television presenter. She gained widespread recognition as the co-host of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest and had previously hosted the competition in 2013. In addition to her Eurovision roles, she has twice hosted Melodifestivalen.
Before rising to fame as a host, Mede began her career by working as a presenter for Stockholm Live in 2007 and became a team member of the panel game show Parlamentet that same year.
In recognition of her comedic talents, she was voted Sweden’s best female comedian in 2009. Outside of work accolades and honors, Petra Mede also embraced family life; giving birth to a daughter with her partner Mattias Gunther in 2012.
