About Nisha Nayar
Nisha Nayar, born on June 7, 1972, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, is a television actress known for her role as Elaine in the BAFTA-nominated children’s series The Story of Tracy Beaker. She has also appeared in the legendary series Doctor Who in 2005 and starred in the audio adventure “Harvest of the Sycorax.”
Prior to her television success, Nayar trained at the Anna Scher Theatre school and earned her first major stage role in 1991 in Our Own Kind at the Bush Theatre. In 2000, she wrote, directed, and produced her first short film titled “New Found Thing.”
Although born in Oyster Bay, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; Nayar moved to Toronto Canada when she was six years old. She later grew up in St. Albans.
