About Nikki McKibbin
Nikki McKibbin was a pop singer and songwriter born on September 28, 1978 in Grand Prairie, Texas. She gained acclaim as the third place finisher during the inaugural season of American Idol in 2002. McKibbin released her debut album Unleashed in 2007 before passing away in November 2020 from a brain aneurysm.
Before rising to fame, she first appeared on the international singing competition reality series Popstars and then auditioned for American Idol with the song “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor. In addition to her music career, she made appearances on Fear Factor, Battle of the Network Reality Stars, E!’s Kill Reality and toured with metal band Rivethead during her album’s promotional tour.
Mckibbin was married to Craig and had a son named Tristan who also appeared on American Idol.
