About Naomi Childers
Naomi Childers was born on November 15, 1892 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. She was a well-known movie actress remembered for her roles in silent films such as After His Own Heart (1919), Earthbound (1920), and Restless Wives (1924). However, she is perhaps most famous for her portrayal of Joan of Arc in the 1917 movie Womanhood, the Glory of the Nation.
Childers began performing at the age of three and achieved stardom at just ten years old when she starred in productions of Alice in Wonderland and Red Riding Hood at St. Louis’s Odeon Theater. She also performed in the Broadway production of Ready Money.
She hailed from British parents and spent her early years growing up in St. Louis, Missouri. Her marriage to screenwriter Luther Reed resulted in one son before ending in divorce.
