Nancy Marchand (1928-06-19) was an American TV actress best known for her roles as Margaret Pynchon on the television series Lou Grant and Livia Soprano on the The Sopranos. She became a member of The Actors Studio at a young age and made her Broadway acting debut in the 1951 production of The Taming of the Shrew.
Throughout her career, Marchand won multiple awards including 4 Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award. She was married to Paul Sparer from 1951 to 1999, and they had three children.
