About Nafisa Ali
Nafisa Ali is an Indian actress, born on January 18, 1957 in Kolkata, India. She has had a successful career in Bollywood, appearing in notable films such as Junoon (1979), Major Saab (1998) and Life In A… Metro (2007). Apart from her acting career, she has been involved in politics and activism with the Indian National Congress.
Prior to her success in acting, Nafisa achieved recognition in various other fields. She was the national swimming champion from 1972-1974 and won the Femina Miss India title in 1976. Additionally, she was the second runner-up at the Miss International contest and also pursued a career as a jockey at the Calcutta Gymkhana in 1979.
In November of 2018, Nafisa revealed that she had been diagnosed with Stage 3 Ovarian cancer through an Instagram post. Her husband is Col R.S. Sodhi – an accomplished polo player – and they have two daughters named Armana and Pia, as well as a son named Ajit.
